The Francis Boutique Inn

The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the staff welcomed us warmly when we arrived. We’d told them it was our babymoon, and they left a lovely congratulations note. The Inn was a nice place to relax, and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. The first night was different. Guests nearby were noisy indoors and outside until about 2am, despite the Inn’s request for quiet after 10pm. We were in the Queen Suite on the main floor at the back, #5, and my husband had to go ask the group to let us sleep after the noise had gone on for quite a while. We’d hoped for a peaceful getaway before the baby arrived, so that night left us with mixed feelings and explains the 3 stars. For what we paid for two nights, we hadn’t expected a place that felt like a party space. It’s a lovely place and location, but something to keep in mind if quiet is important to you.

After a couple of nights, I felt relaxed, and the location made it easy to walk to shops, breweries, and restaurants around Ucluelet. Our King Apartment at the Francis felt like home, with a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy newly renovated bathroom, and an inviting living room with a fireplace. The private balcony had chairs where we enjoyed coffee and breakfast outside. The clean, comfortable bathtub and easy-to-use sauna were lovely, too. They send a video showing how everything works. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

The photo is from inside the sauna on the property. We were on a west coast road trip from California to Vancouver island and called the Francis on the off chance they had a room in high season. The staff were incredibly helpful and found a way to make it work. It felt like staying with good friends, in a safe and comfortable place. Great value in a magical setting.

The guest service surprised us with chocolate eggs and a bottle of wine for Easter when we arrived, and the jacuzzi was the perfect place to unwind after beach exploring. The whole house was warm, cozy, and relaxing, and the property itself is stunning. The rooms were spotless, even by my very picky standards. I loved wandering around and took a million pictures. We had an unbelievable three nights, and I can’t think of anything that would have made it better. I loved every minute and will definitely return. Truly a paradise!
