Marpole Guest House

The main drawback for me was getting there. It’s quite a walk to the train and buses, though driving would be easy and convenient. The house itself is lovely and quiet, with everything you need. It’s clearly described before booking as a room rental with shared amenities, so the earlier claim that it’s a scam doesn’t fit. Only two rooms share a toilet, and the last room has its own ensuite. The other guests were pleasant, and we didn’t need to whisper, just be considerate.

The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were modern and very clean. The host was great, and everything was really well organized. I went to a concert with my daughter, and an Uber to either arena was $23. I’m a light sleeper, so I’d bring earplugs next time. I didn’t hear planes, but morning traffic came through.

The hosts were friendly and considerate, and the place was spotless. It’s close to the airport, with good Uber connections. A really nice guesthouse, with lovely rooms and a high-quality bathroom. I’d gladly recommend it.

The only drawback is that it’s a little outside downtown Vancouver, though there’s a bus stop very nearby and that route goes all the way downtown. We arrived at 11 am, before the 3 pm check-in, and the host got our room ready quickly. Both the room and shared bathroom were clean and tidy. There’s no name on the door, so it may take a moment to spot the place.
