Glen's Motor Hotel

There’s a gas station just across the road, with a grocery store and fast food places down the block. The hotel also has a restaurant and beer store downstairs. I was impressed by how patient and understanding the front desk staff and managers were, and they were quick to sort out mistakes or help with requests. For a small town, the cleanliness is above and beyond, and the well-kept rooms have a modern look that still feels homey.

I felt safe, and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean and nice too. It was a good stay, and I’d definitely come back.

The room was mostly quiet and not a bad stay, but there were several dirty spots and the walls were thin enough that we could hear people talking in the hallway and next door. When I asked at the desk for extra towels, the woman who helped was caring and understanding. We were in town for a medical trip, and the hospital told us we’d get a 10% discount here. At check-in, they said they didn’t offer it. The front desk man, who I understood to be a supervisor, spoke with someone in a language I couldn’t understand, so I don’t know what they said. They later agreed to give us 10%, but when I worked it out, the discount was only 4%. I think it’s bad business to have the hospital send customers and then lie to them about the discount. The room itself wasn’t too bad.

I was here for Canada Day, and the location was handy, right on the highway, with a restaurant attached and a gas station across the street. The room was clean and nicely laid out, and the air conditioning worked well, which I really needed. I wish there’d been a lighter second blanket, since the only choices were a sheet or a heavy comforter. The water pressure was also extremely strong and a bit painful.
