Elkhorn Resort, Spa, & Conference Centre

Cheryl at the front desk was understanding when we brought up our concerns, but the chalet still felt like a roadside motel room despite the premium price. My wife and I booked the 3 bedroom chalet for a long weekend and were really disappointed by its condition. It looked scuffed, broken, and generally scruffy, as the photos show. One bulb in the bathroom's three-light fixture was out, dead flies were inside the light fixtures even in February, and the dishwasher didn't work. More than the individual issues, it felt like nobody cared about the place's appearance.

Nick was very friendly, and the service overall was warm. We loved relaxing in the spa at night, when the atmosphere felt completely different and even more peaceful. The hotel was comfortable, and our room had a simple but charming Yellowstone-style mountain feel. Food at both the spa and hotel was delicious and reasonably priced. We'd definitely come back. I hope the cabins become pet-friendly someday, since that would make the stay even better and bring in more guests like us.

Our day at the spa was fabulous, especially the steam saunas. We also had fun in the outdoor hot tub, and even tried the cold dip for a very short time. A lovely stay at the Elkhorn resort.

The main indoor hot tub was cold, and when we asked about things to see, like the new ice sculpture and skating, nobody seemed to know where they were. I arrived to find I'd been given the wrong spa package, so call ahead to check that yours is correct. If you get a food voucher, spend the full amount at once. I ate 25 and saved the rest for supper, then learned it could only be used once. Communication between the spa and hotel needs serious work. This place has a lot of potential to bring in more visitors.
