ThistleDown House

We spent four nights here in summer 2019 and would happily come back. After days out at nearby attractions, it was lovely to return to somewhere so relaxing. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and the breakfasts were amazing. Definitely recommend it if you want a nice place to unwind at the end of the day.

The 3 course breakfasts were out of this world, and Brian and Virginia served them with a level of care you rarely see. Liz, Brian, and their team made us feel special throughout our three nights in May. We arrived to a warm greeting from Liz and felt right away that we’d have a perfect stay. Thistle Down House is a peaceful oasis, with a beautiful house and superb rooms. We chose Mulberry Peek, which was beautifully furnished and had a balcony looking over tranquil gardens. The room was bright and comfortable, with attention to every detail. North Vancouver was a convenient base, just a 4 minute walk from Capilano Suspension Bridge & Park, which was well worth visiting. We feel we’ve made a lifelong friend in Liz and highly recommend Thistle Down House to anyone visiting Vancouver.

On our honeymoon in Vancouver, this was the best place we stayed. Liz was a gracious host who made us feel at home, and she even made a reservation for us at The Canyon, a local restaurant I highly recommend. The property is gorgeous, our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast she made was delicious and elegant. We’ll be back on our next Vancouver trip.

The breakfast was gourmet, not the usual eggs and pancakes, and really delicious. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The house, rooms, and immaculate gardens were spotless, and the staff felt like family. Their attention to detail was second to none. We even watched the table being set with a ruler to make sure everything was perfect. Brian, Virginia, and the rest of the staff went out of their way to keep us comfortable and take care of our needs. I’d HIGHLY recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the Vancouver area.
