We stayed at the Executive Inn Mountainside from March 7-11, and it was one of our most frustrating hotel experiences. One evening after skiing, we came back to find our room door open to the hallway, with the safety latch engaged so it couldn't close. Housekeeping and maintenance had both been in earlier, after we'd called maintenance about a plugged toilet. My son's Apple Watch, which he'd left near the entrance, was missing when we noticed the open door. The manager said housekeeping uses carpeted blocks to hold doors open while cleaning, but couldn't explain how the latch had been left engaged. We were told they weren't sure what happened and that we should check pockets or backpacks, or wait to see if the watch turned up in lost and found. The next day, we left around 9:45 a.m. with the sign set to “Please Make Up Room.” When we got back at 4:30 p.m., the room still hadn't been serviced. Staff said housekeeping had seen the sign earlier as “Do Not Disturb” while we were still sleeping and removed us from their list for the entire day. They apparently handle up to 12 rooms and don't have time to check again later. So if they pass by while the sign says “Do Not Disturb,” the room may not be serviced at all that day, even if you change it after leaving. A room left open, a missing personal item, and a clear service request being missed are unacceptable by any hotel standard. The only offer to resolve it was a 20% discount on a future stay. We have absolutely no interest in coming back.

I accidentally got stranded in Whistler for the night and called for a room. The quote was decent, $178 for one person for the night, with underground parking optional at $30. The room was huge, one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. Staff were great and the location was good. Bring your own water, the one in the room costs $6, haha.

The room and location were great, but the experience was upsetting. We arrived at 4 p.m. and our suite wasn't ready. I understood that could happen and was willing to wait. The front desk lady was pleasant, gave us free parking to make up for the inconvenience, and we waited 30 minutes. The lift was broken, so we had to carry two heavy bags upstairs. I was okay with that, but after the long clean and our 30-minute wait past check-in, I found disgusting brown stains on the towels in the drawer. The front desk told me, “this happens,” so it seems you should be prepared for filthy towels here. In the morning the lift was still broken, and we had to carry our bags down the stairs. We left at 9 a.m., but laundry staff had blocked the only stairwell with hundreds of towels. They saw us waiting and moved a few, leaving only a narrow gap for the heavy bags. This was a safety issue, especially at a busy time. My poor brother almost slipped carrying them down. It's unacceptable. What if he'd been hurt? Would the hotel be liable? I told the front desk, and they just said okay. I felt the hotel didn't care about guest safety. Utterly shocking.

Wow, there was a sauna in the room! The room was so clean, and the fifth floor was pretty amazing. The swimming pool and hot bath felt really good after skiing. There was also a sauna on the second floor.

The outdoor pool is heated, and the service was good. Our room was clean, though the inn itself feels a little dated. Check which Executive Inn you’ve booked, since there are two nearby, one by the Mountain side and another elsewhere. Underground parking costs $30 per night. The open lots are free from 5pm to 8am, about an 8-minute walk away.
