Ironwood was a fantastic place for our family, and we enjoyed every moment. The home is in a quiet neighborhood but conveniently close to the mountain, with a bus stop right outside, making it a great base for our ski trip. We played ping pong while the kids splashed in the pool, then all relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the fantastic views down the valley. We'd happily stay here again.
The views of Whistler from the pool and hot tub were amazing. The accommodation has been newly renovated and sits in a quiet part of Whistler. The village is 20 minutes away on foot or five minutes by bike along the valley trail. Bus route no. 6 stops right there and drops you at the Gondola Transit exchange. There's a big car park and a games room with ping pong. Highly recommend.
We've stayed at The Ironwood twice this summer and will be back. The rooms are extra large, with AC, a fully stocked kitchen, insuite laundry, and a fireplace we never used. This isn't a hotel, so expect a self-serve stay without a front desk, but everything from check-in to check-out was easy, and parking was ample. There's lots to do nearby, including hikes, bike trails, golf, and a lake just steps away. The exterior looks brand new after its upgrades, with new balconies and windows. The pool deck also looks freshly updated, with gorgeous, unobstructed mountain views.
The condos are spacious and quiet, and the building has been updated with a brand-new exterior and windows. Parking is covered and secure. The pool and hot tub are the best in town, with spectacular views of the mountains from Whistler to Pemberton.
We really enjoyed our two-night stay. The Japanese-style interior felt comfortable, and the bunk beds were a hit with our kids. Even on the first floor, it was surprisingly quiet. The appliances all worked, the shower had strong water pressure, and the pool and hot tub had amazing views. The renovation was a letdown, though. Expedia hadn’t mentioned it, so arriving to find the building covered in blue tarps, with no concierge or directions at the entrance, was a bit alarming. We called and someone directed us to register at another lodge in the village, about a five-minute drive away, then return to the apartment. That was inconvenient. There was also renovation work inside, with door trim missing, and the patio was closed. With the outside covered for construction, we got very little sunlight.
