Southside Diner is a Whistler Creek staple for good reason. Their classic breakfast and lunch favourites are delicious, and the place never lets me down.

The owner was kind, professional, and quick to respond, and my room was clean and cozy. Southside Lodge is well placed for a quick bus ride to the village, with the lake, a grocery store, and a gym all within walking distance. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose it again when I'm in Whistler. Highly recommend!

I chose Southside Lodge for a mountain biking trip because I could bring my bike into my room, which was a huge plus. The care I got there deserves more than five stars. After I suffered a serious injury during my stay, Max and Julie, who operate the lodge, went above and beyond. They retrieved my bike, got my medication, helped with food, packed my bags, and made sure I got on the bus to the airport. They made the hostel feel like a five-star hotel and helped me in every way I could imagine. I'm hoping I recover quickly and can return next year with better results. Thanks for everything! Greg

Julie and Maxwell were so welcoming, and we really liked our stay. My boyfriend and I spent more than a month and a half at Southside Lodge during the pandemic. Our room was spacious and clean, with everything we needed, including our own bedroom, toilet, and shower. The kitchen was shared and fully equipped, which was great for me since I like cooking. Thank you, Julie and Maxwell!

The staff were wonderfully helpful and accommodating, which made a big difference while I was looking for permanent housing. I spent two months here after arriving in Whistler, and it was a great base. In Creekside, the hostel is a couple of minutes' walk from the gondola up Whistler mountain. There's a bus stop just across the road, with frequent service into the village in about ten minutes. That's much closer than HI hostel, and there are two extra bus services you can take. A supermarket and several places for dinner or drinks are nearby too. It's a small, less social hostel, with no common area beyond the kitchen. There are couches in each room, but in winter it can be hard to hang out there when the rooms are full of snowboard gear. The bathrooms and showers are small as well. The building is old, so I can see why renovations might be difficult. My main disappointment was having a fifth person put into a dorm meant for four. They added a mattress on the floor, making the room crowded. It was peak winter season and I know demand was probably high, but I'd paid to share with three other people and nobody told us beforehand. Even so, it was a great place to stay, and the staff were mostly very helpful.
