The A/C and TV worked, and at least the room didn’t smell. But the floors were wet and dirty, with leaves and sticks tracked in, and the blankets were damp too. We brought our own sheets and blankets, thankfully. We used one of our blankets on the floor because we didn’t want to walk around barefoot. The bathroom was just as unclean, and the shower tap was a little broken, making it hard to get a comfortable temperature. This might do if you need somewhere to crash after a late drive, but bring your own bedding. Cleanliness was a real problem.

The room was small but cozy, with a decent bed, a microwave, a little table and two chairs, and a shower but no tub. For the price, it’s a nice place, though it was more run down than we expected. The water is close behind the motel, but there’s no path to get there. A bit of work could make the place much prettier.

That view of the babbling brook from the rear windows was spectacular. We found this place after a long, exhausting drive, and the manager was polite, helpful, and clearly had a lot of life experience. The rooms are small, but comfortable. I’d recommend it to a weary traveller heading toward Algonquin Park. 😊

Sammy, the owner, is a great guy. I stayed here in October 2016, and the room was tiny but very clean. I’ve stayed in plenty of motels, and this one was a great value, priced very reasonably compared with others in the area. I’ll be back!

Great value for your dollar. Stay over at late Sam’s place, grab dinner at Mad Mushers, then have a quick breakfast at Algonquin Lunch Bar before heading out to hike at Algonquin.
