Super 8 Williams Lake

The staff were amazing and clearly doing their best with what they had. The problem seems to be an owner disconnected from the business. The hotel itself was dated, the towels old, hard, and tiny, and the air conditioner was so noisy I had to turn it off. The included continental breakfast was honestly a joke. I've stayed in a pristine three star place in Vancouver for less than I paid here. I'll never stay here again.

The room was enormous, with two beds, a big TV, couch, armchair, and several tables and chairs. The dresser and desks were scratched, but that didn't really bother me. Breakfast was alright, with cereal, eggs, bagels, and the basic options. I was bracing for something disgusting after reading other reviews, but my stay turned out pretty good. Thankfully, there were no blood stains on the bed.

I spent four nights here, and the bedding was bloody and soiled. When I flipped over a pillow, it was stained, and the bedding on the other bed was stained too, as the pictures show. Before I even used it, the toilet in the second room was plugged and full. I went to the front desk, and they couldn't understand why the phone in my room wouldn't work. The staff member asked me to try again. I did, it still didn't work, and the phone in the new room they gave me didn't work either. This is a horrible motel. Don't stay here. At 6pm one day I returned to find the room hadn't been cleaned, and the beds and bedding hadn't been changed. I told the front desk. The woman asked whether I'd put a “do not disturb” sign on my door. I said I'd never seen one before and didn't have one on the door. She explained that people who put up the sign don't get their rooms cleaned. The next day, the room had been cleaned.

A good place to stay for anything in Williams Lake, or just passing through town, and we'd definitely come back. The location is convenient, the room was clean, and it was very quiet on the mountain side. There are also rooms with a nice lake view. The continental breakfast was good and ran from 5am to 11am. Good value for the money.
