St. Regis Hotel

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice, with nothing to complain about there. I’d been bumped a day after WestJet oversold my flight and had three hotels to choose from. I picked this one because it was listed as premium, which seemed like a labelling error. The front doors are locked for safety concerns, the restaurant was empty at 7:00pm, and I was advised not to take a walk outside after dinner.

We stayed for 20 days and had our room cleaned twice. The staff who did it were very professional, and the laundry area was super useful for us. We were upgraded from a queen to a king suite at no extra charge, and being a member has its perks. The view from the 22 floor was wonderful. There are vending machines on various floors, but they only carry Coke products and the choices are limited. There’s no microwave in the room, though hotel guests can use one on the 12th floor. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars.

The Internet and TV didn’t work, and the walls were so thin we could hear every conversation and noise from the rooms and hallways. There was no privacy, and it really spoiled a lot of the stay. The location was great, staff were nice, and the breakfast option was decent. Glad there was attached parking, and I liked the wood floor updates in the room.

I was there on a business trip, and the place felt basic and depressing. The in-room coffee makers just spit out brown water, there’s no cable, and the gym has the basics but no water. After a long flight, the front desk staff came across as robotic and unfriendly. No frills here, and I don’t recommend it.
