Hotel Pullman Lubumbashi Grand Karavia

Daniel B was so friendly and helpful with my bags. The front desk team were also welcoming and ready to help, and the food was amazing. I had a fantastic stay at the Pullman and would definitely recommend it.

The staff were top class, friendly, and very helpful. For South Africans, the standard here in Lubumbashi is comparable to Protea or Marriot hotels, and it's one of the better places I've found in the DRC. Just be prepared for very expensive drinks, even water and Coke Zero.

The room was reasonably clean and comfortable, with the basics provided, and I found the place calm and safe. Breakfast was fresh enough and decent, though nothing memorable. Staff were polite and handled requests professionally, but the service felt ordinary rather than especially warm. For a short visit, the place is okay if you don't expect too much. The biggest disappointment was having no gym. For somewhere aimed at travelers or longer stays, that's a real drawback for anyone trying to keep up a fitness routine. The money confusion at reception was also really annoying. They gave me $40 in change, then said it was a mistake, and told me to pay $500. When I was paying, they said it was actually $700. Adding a gym and getting those service details sorted could make a big difference.

Arriving somewhere unfamiliar while traveling can leave you feeling a bit lost, but the welcome at Pullman Lubumbashi Grand Karavia quickly put me at ease.
