The staff’s advice about getting around safely helped me feel secure throughout my stay, and the hotel is well placed for shops, restaurants, and city attractions. I was impressed by how friendly and attentive everyone was from arrival onward. They were professional, answered questions, and offered useful suggestions that made my time in Pointe-Noire better. My room was comfortable and tastefully decorated, a quiet place to return to after exploring. The amenities and attention to detail were excellent, and the hotel has an elegant feel. I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Atlantic.

Breakfast was an excellent buffet. The waiters were a little slow with orders, though I guess the language barrier may have played a part. The rooms are huge, with air-conditioning and strong wifi, and the hotel is close to the beach. A coffee or tea station in the room would be the one thing I’d add.

The pool is large and clean, and works really well for swimming workouts. There’s pleasant greenery around it and a relaxing atmosphere. Outside visitors can get a day pass for 14000 CFA and use the pool until 6 pm. It includes a towel and a cushion for the pool beds, and lockers and showers are available.

The restaurant has international and Lebanese dishes, and the staff were friendly and helpful when explaining the menu and helping me choose. My room was clean and well furnished, with nice paintings, a good flat TV, and sports, news, and movie channels, though most were in French. The bathroom was clean and had a nice bathtub for relaxing. Reception staff were very friendly, speaking English, French, and Arabic. I didn’t try any other languages. There’s no coffee or tea setup in the room. You can get things brought to the room, but they aren’t free. The room and food prices felt high, though prices seemed high for most things in Congo Brazzaville. For tourism, I don’t think Congo Brazzaville is a good destination at the moment. Maybe the government could do more, such as develop good resorts along the beach.

The hotel has a nice pool and a good view over the city. My issue was the dated room design, which felt like the 2000s. Having to shower inside the bathtub, really? 😭
