Revier Mountain Lodge Adelboden

Dinner was fine until I asked for dessert and was told the kitchen had closed, with only frozen yogurt available. Nobody had told us anything while we were sitting there eating. It seemed they were in a hurry to enjoy themselves with the people drinking beer in front of the kitchen and chatting together. I won’t come back.

The staff were friendly, but this place was horrible. It was 28 degrees at night and, with no air conditioning in the room, sleeping was impossible. The window is ridiculous, and the bathroom was flooded. I’d hoped for a good coffee too, but that didn’t work out.

We really enjoyed our stay. The restaurant is right in the middle of Adelboden, the service was excellent, and the self-service Frozen Joghurt machine is a hit. The flank steak was excellent, and the burgers tasted great too, though I’d have liked mine a little more medium.

The rooms are simple but adequate, with great views, and they’re perfect for skiing. In September, though, we couldn’t sleep because the room stayed hot. It was quite cool outside, but the window is tiny and didn’t let enough cool air in, and there’s no air conditioning. Spending that much to come across the Atlantic and then tossing and turning in the heat was miserable.
