We were in Albinen for a wedding, and our hosts Viviane and Stephane made us and the family who visited feel very welcome. Our room was lovely, with its own balcony overlooking fantastic alpine scenery. Stephane is a terrific chef, so I’d highly recommend eating there too. I agree with all the glowing comments about this wonderful B&B.

We especially loved having room to spread out, both outside on the big terrace, with its different seating spots, and indoors among the beautifully decorated rooms. Our family had a wonderful stay at Les demeures des Elfes. Viviane and Stéphane are warm hosts who make an effort to make things special, offer useful excursion tips, and cook delicious meals. We recommend joining them for dinner, and the Swiss wines were delicious too. The cosy rooms had everything we needed. We’d happily recommend this lovely place in Albinen.

The room was really comfortable, and the owner was wonderfully accommodating. After staying in 40 countries, I’d say this is one of the best views I’ve ever seen. The church bells were my one complaint: they ring every hour, plus for three minutes at 7am. That’s unfortunate for anyone nearby trying to accommodate tourists. Still, it was a wonderful stay, and I’d highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

We’ll come back. It’s great value, and Leukerbad, with its natural thermal baths, skiing and more, is only 10 minutes away. The chalet is a beautiful, cosy traditional one, with a great host, atmosphere and food, in a medieval mountain town with incredible views of the Alps.
