Säntis - Das Hotel

The hotel is brand new after the old one was destroyed, and sitting outside gives you spectacular views. It also connects directly to the cable car up to Mt Säntis. We stopped for a drink after snowshoeing from Kronberg and sat in the sunshine outside. We hadn't realized there was both table service and a self service area, and landed in the table service section. They were busy, so ordering, getting the drinks, and paying all took a while. For drinks alone, self service might have suited us better.

The place was extremely clean, and the wellness area was perfect. The staff were very polite, and the rooms were spacious with a great view. You can even have breakfast at the top of the mountain at 2500m! Really recommend it.

For my husband's birthday, I surprised him with the weekend package for two, and we both really enjoyed our stay. Our room was stylish and functional, with a very comfortable bed. The wellness area was lovely, and both the included breakfast and three course dinner were very nice. We were lucky our Bahn tickets worked on Saturday. Had we waited until Sunday, we would have had to postpone, so I'd clarify that detail.

The seminar rooms look great, but the facilities are mediocre. Many are missing basics like projectors, and you can only use the coffee machine during the scheduled breaks. Guest rooms are spacious and stylish, and many have a sought after view of Säntis or the nearby woods. Breakfast is the usual continental spread, done with good quality ingredients and plenty of regional produce. Outside the hotel restaurant and the summit, there aren't other restaurants close by.
