Berggasthaus Eggberge

The cowbells in the distance and those huge mountains filling the view made this feel like a real Swiss experience. We’ve traveled all over Switzerland, and this was the best food and view we’ve found. The red cable car is modern and charming, and the ride is worth it even if heights make you nervous. Everything is Swiss sourced, local where possible. The fruit cakes, crème brûlée, Rösti, and fish are all worth trying. I’ve never had better fish and chips, even compared with the local food where our family lives in England. Skip the tourist traps and come here. The light and clouds keep changing the panorama minute by minute. We love it so much we try to return every year.

You can tell right away that Gaby and Andy have poured themselves into this place. The building is beautiful and kept spotless, and the service and food are as good as you’ll find. It’s a special setting, with lovely views and a magical village around it. Everything just comes together here. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

The view is amazing, and the people are really kind. The meals are high quality too.
