We had great breakfast and friendly hosts, and the terrace gives you easy access to the lake. The views along the water were wonderful, and staying in a traditional Swiss wooden building made it a real experience. We'll be back.

If you don't look local, I'd think twice about coming here. We got to the restaurant at 12:20, when just one table was occupied. After we ordered, at least five or six other groups came in. We waited at least an hour for our dishes, and nearly everyone who arrived after us had finished eating before ours were served. I'm pretty sure we were discriminated against, even though we live here and my kids spoke German. We ate in under 20 minutes. I attached my Google timeliness screenshot to show how long we were stuck there. The wait was twice as long as they had told us it would be. I could have accepted that if someone had come over to explain or apologize, but all we got was the excuse that our dishes happened to take the longest. The waitress greeted all the other tables and skipped ours. It felt obvious that they'd decided we mattered less. The food wasn't even that good for what they charge. It ruined our plans and our day. Discrimination is rare in Switzerland, but I've been to so many countries that I know when it's happening to me.

The rooms have a lovely atmosphere and are clean, the breakfast was lovely, and getting into the water is easy. The location is amazing. It feels like someone has thought through all the details. We'll return.

The Flyhof hotel turned out to be a lucky choice. The hosts were lovely and made me feel welcome, and the restaurant was excellent. There's a pretty terraced garden behind the hotel, with access to the lake if you fancy a swim. It's a great base for exploring this stunning area, with the lake and waterfalls close by on foot, by bike, or by ferry. Public transport also makes it easy to go farther afield.
