Badus

The GM Jorg and the rest of the staff made things easy for our group of 28 skiers from Colorado, going above and beyond to create a positive experience. Their focus on top notch hospitality really showed. The hotel is close to lifts, buses, the train, dinner options, ski rentals and groceries. Our rooms were large by European standards, and breakfast was delicious, with great views from the 5th floor. Dinner at the hotel was delicious too, with high quality food. The skiing was excellent as well. I highly recommend the hotel, you won't be disappointed.

We had a great time in the family suite at Hotel Piz Badus, with comfy beds, lots of storage and a lounge area. The ski room's boot warmers worked perfectly and made getting to and from the slopes easy. The staff were great everywhere, from the hotel and breakfast to the restaurant, where we had a really good dinner at the steakhouse one night. Breakfast was simple but nicely laid out, with great breads and croissants, scrambled eggs, meats and cheeses, fruit, juices and cereals. The top floor room felt fresh and had a cool vibe with all the woodwork. It was well appointed, with a fancy coffee machine for espressos and cappuccinos, and even a butter dispenser for a perfect pad of butter. The hotel was handy for skiing. We skied Gemstock two days, and the shuttle picks up across the street at the Information building at 8:08, 8:38, 9:08 and 9:38. We also skied Andermatt to Diene and back for a day; the gondola is a three-minute walk up the street. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

From our room 308 we could watch Nätschen and the MGB train winding past. The layout made it easy to settle in for a week without living out of our suitcases. The room had a coffee machine, fridge, fantastic hair dryer and heated towel rack, but no kettle. There was one upholstered chair and a desk chair; I think some other rooms have larger sitting areas. No sauna, but the ski room was warm and dry, with a boot warming rack. Having an elevator straight from the ski room to the rooms felt like an indispensable luxury after full days on the slopes. The proprietor seemed hardworking, there from breakfast through dinner, with polite and friendly staff. The photos are from the room, looking at the grand 10 minute firework show on New Year’s which launches by Gütsch. Skiing from the top of Gemstock, you can follow the signs to Andermatt Dorf and end up a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel. The beds were firm and super comfortable, and the cotton sheets and towels were soft and large.

The food is to die for, and the rooms are clean, spacious and updated. Management and staff were friendly and helpful. It's a perfect spot, just steps from the Gondola, whether you come for ski season or any of the other seasons. I've visited twice this year with family and friends, and I'll be back!
