The rooms were clean, the service was good, and the location was perfect. One thing to know, though: the hotel is made of wood, so as a light sleeper I could hear footsteps and murmuring much of the time, which made sleep a bit challenging. The restaurant was the main letdown. My Bolognese was bland and very pale, and for what we paid, the food didn't feel worth it. They could serve fresher, tastier dishes to make the experience better.

It's ideally placed for walking to either of Andermatt's gondola stations. The hotel feels authentic and charming, and the rooms, though not especially large, are practical, with a closet, shower, toilet and the basics you need. Breakfast isn't anything special, but it's good enough before a day of skiing. :)

The walls are paper thin, so you hear the neighbors. My small room wasn't cleaned, and staff came in to close the window, then left it unlocked for the rest of the day. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, and the basic breakfast was underwhelming. I waited 20 minutes to check in, then a few more minutes for hot water.

Pedro's steak at the restaurant was delicious, and I left with unforgettable memories after two nights. The staff were very friendly. The rooms are tiny, but comfortable and very clean.

We keep coming back for our winter sports holidays, and this is now our seventh year. The owners are very friendly, and the food is good, with very good wine too. Andermatt works well for skiing with the family, and experienced off-piste skiers can head beyond the marked runs as well. The hotel isn't modern, but a good hotel is what we're after.
