Hotel Suisse

Despite being beside the train station and a busy road, the room was quiet at night and I slept well. The staff were helpful and knew what they were doing, and the room had what I needed, including sockets that didn’t require a converter. There were ants in the bathroom, but they had disappeared later that evening. A small patch of paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling, perhaps from earlier water damage. The built-in A/C took some figuring out to get the temperature right. I was only there for one night, so it was fine. The robe upsell felt a bit lame: the quality is very poor, I had to replace exactly the same type in 1 year, and the hotel’s asking price is typically about 1/5th of the store price.

Gare Cornavin is just across the street, or about 20 metres from the hotel door if you go through the subway. Great spot for getting to the main transport hub for trains, busses and tranms.

The staff were friendly, and my top-floor room was comfortable and spacious, with a balcony looking out over the front of the hotel. It was close to shops and restaurants, and the shower was good. The hotel is opposite the train station and bus and tram stops. There was a large TV with some English channels. Tourist tax was 4.25CHF per night. I’d recommend staying here.

The room was spacious and the staff were really nice, and being so close to the train station was handy. But the area was a bit noisy. There were ants in the bathroom, the pillows were hard as stones, and the bathrobes were very poor quality.
