Hotel Kaubad

I was traveling solo without a car, and the people at Hotel Kaubad made all the difference. Jannine arranged for someone to collect me at the train station after I realized the hotel couldn’t be reached by bus or train. The local shuttle runs to and from the hotel, but its app is mediocre and rides need planning since drivers can take a while to become available. Once I downloaded it, I was lucky to have short waits for trips into town and to the gondolas. Every interaction with the staff felt genuine and kind. Polina’s care and attention to detail meant a lot, and Dibraun’s hospitality went above and beyond. The hotel is being renovated nicely, my room was clean and homely, and breakfast had good variety. I especially loved the made-to-order bacon and eggs. The location has great hikes and mountain huts where you can eat. The staff were fantastic, the food was wonderful, and the location is gorgeous. My father struggled with the two flights of stairs, though, since there’s no elevator or chair lift. Thanks to the staff for a great stay.

We left early to go hiking, and the host packed us a lunch box with some disposable ponchos too. The staff were super friendly and the whole experience was great. They also didn’t charge us for bringing our dog.

The pizza was easily the best I’ve ever had. Incredible place, and the staff were super friendly!
