Hotel Säntis

I only ate there, and the staff were really pleasant. It felt like a high-quality experience. I had the tortellini, and it was refreshing to find a good pasta option in town. The atmosphere wasn’t ideal for one person, since it had a quieter, more personal kind of vibe, but I enjoyed it anyway. Would go back again! :)

I only ate here once, but it was lovely and amazing. The waiters did a great job and made the meal really enjoyable. The food was delicious, the location was beautiful, and even the bathrooms were clean and well kept. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much, we’d gladly come again!

Cosy is the word I’d use for this hotel, right in the old, beautiful part of Appenzell and about a five-minute walk from the station. We were a family of five staying for one night in August and had two rooms, so there was enough space. The hotel’s restaurant had great service and good food, though I’d say it’s on the expensive side. The front desk was very nice and suggested the Rondom Appezöll hike, which we hadn’t known about. It was worth every second, so beautiful, and I’d recommend it to everyone visiting Appenzell. If I get another chance to visit, I’ll make sure to book the same hotel.

The desk person knew the Appenzell pass inside out and was helpful in suggesting the perfect experiences available with it. We spent three days here to experience the Landsgemeinde, and what a wonderful view of this historic annual event. We were offered the Appenzell pass. We spent two weeks in Switzerland, and this was by far our favorite lodging. Clean, classy, warm, and welcoming. You couldn’t ask for a nicer experience.
