What stayed with me most was how the refund was handled. After I complained on WhatsApp from 20 December at 9:30 pm and posted my review, management called on 22 December and verbally promised a partial refund for the issues I had documented. Nothing concrete happened, and I had to keep asking for an update. On 24 December, they wrote that they were willing to refund me but had not processed it, and mentioned that I had not changed my Google review. I replied that resolving a documented complaint shouldn’t depend on changing a public review. On 30 December, after that exchange, I was told CHF 55.00 had been arranged. By 31 December, I had received it, but my rating still hasn’t changed. The room was noisy and dusty, and the breakfast advertised and charged at CHF 16.00 was extremely limited. Parking cost CHF 13.00 even though it was in the same building. The room change was offered 2.5 hours after my first complaint, and only after I also complained about the very loud music from the ground-floor bar while I was on floor 2. When I sent photos of the bedroom dust, I was told the complaint was being taken seriously by forwarding it to management. The breakfast was nowhere near worth its price, and I had to ask repeatedly about the promised refund. For the cost and the stay I had, it felt like a tourist trap.
