The guest WiFi isn’t password protected, which I don’t find acceptable in 2026. It should be easy enough to fix. Apart from that, we had a spacious, warm room in a building with loads of character, from the medieval-looking exterior through to the interior. The lights are a bit dim, and the sockets aren’t in the most convenient spots, but that seems tied to the building’s historic character, so I don’t hold it against them. It’s a 3 star hotel, though I think it should be at least 4. Breakfast was delicious, with a good range for everyone.

We stayed three nights to enjoy the Swiss atmosphere and see the Lionesses in St Gallen. I’ve travelled quite a bit, and this is honestly one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were charming, and their English was superb, as you’d expect. We spoke a lot of tourist German. Our room was spotless and perfectly appointed. Breakfast was just right, with cheeses, cold meats, yoghurt, muesli, jams, honey, lovely bread rolls and pastries, plus scrambled eggs and bacon. The town and harbour are a few minutes’ walk one way, and the lake is a few minutes in the other direction. I’d LOVE to come back!

The staff were so kind and welcoming, and the food was exquisite. The kitchen’s dishes made for a really delightful meal, with an elegant, harmonious atmosphere around us. I’d definitely recommend it.

The dinner was one of the best I’ve had, and Gerald, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. It’s very good value for Switzerland, and I’d come back. The room was lovely. They use a key system to unlock the door, so make sure you understand how it works. It’s very easy.

We spent a weekend here with our dog, our 1-year-old son, and my husband. The room was spacious and clean, and everything we needed was taken care of. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. This is a beautiful little boutique hotel, a short walk from Lake Constance, and I especially recommend the restaurant for its food and service.
