The restaurant and bar were the highlight for us. The freshly prepared food was delicious and clearly made with care, and the salad was amazing. Staff went the extra mile and were outstanding. We've also eaten at many nearby places, including Strandbad, Vetter, and Tschuggen. We stayed at Aves for the first time in a one-room apartment with four of us, including our two children, aged one and three. We used the sofa bed too. The self-service setup and digital key cards were very convenient, with the option to get a physical card. The kitchen was a little impractical but good enough, and it had equipment for raclette with eight pans, which was great. Cleanliness was very good, though our toddler did find a bit of dust on the floor, which is normal. The sofa bed sloped a little, making blood collect in the head. We had a great stay and will come back.

I was there for the RedBull Open Ice event, not an overnight stay, so I can't comment on the rooms. We had a great time playing ice hockey among the beautiful mountains. Aves organized everything really well and looked after us with great service. The lobby was a nice place to relax and unwind. Thanks for the great cooperation, Aves & RedBull :)

The room was far too warm and hard to cool down, and parking added CHF 75 to an already costly stay of over CHF 2,200, not counting restaurant dinners. Although Booking.com lists the hotel as having parking, it isn't included. Those charges, along with the other issues, felt out of step with the price. We did enjoy our time there once we arrived, but the booking process left a bad impression. We had reserved four nights early through Booking.com at a very good rate. About 20 days before we were due to leave, I got an email saying there was a problem with my card, which had since been replaced. The booking was cancelled automatically the next day. It happened over the weekend, and by Monday, when I saw the email, the reservation was gone. I contacted the hotel right away and asked them to hold the room and help restore the booking. They wouldn't, and told me to book through their own website instead. That meant paying much more and adding a night to meet the minimum stay. The quick cancellation and the hotel's lack of flexibility seemed unnecessarily rigid. The self-service style may suit some people, with guests expected to check themselves in and book online, but I personally expect more help and human contact at this price. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I miss hotels where reception staff do more than direct you to a screen. I was hoping for more care and service.

We had a lovely time here with our kids. It has a modern, youthful loft-like feel right by the lake, and the ski lifts are a five-minute walk away.
