Ascovilla

We had a wonderful vacation at Ascovilla. The location is fantastic, everything was immaculately clean, and the staff were kind and very focused on service. Thank you, Mrs. Faucherre, and your team for making our stay so lovely.

The pool is generously sized and heated, with a pool bar and a poolside restaurant serving drinks and snacks through the day. Breakfast was a rich buffet, with both buffet items and à la minute orders, and the evening turndown was a nice touch. Our renovated room was comfortable and very clean. The hotel sits right on the Swiss shore of Lake Maggiore, next to the infamous hotel Eden Rock in Ascona. It’s a relaxing, quiet place, yet only a five-minute walk to the town center, or quicker on the hotel bikes. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. One morning we left our orange juice glasses on an empty table, and by the time we returned from the buffet it had been set perfectly. A dream hotel for old and young. We’d be happy to come back. ❤️😍👏

The location is amazing, with a nice pool area and good breakfast. But the walls are so thin we could hear every word, toilet flush, and running water from the neighboring rooms. There was also hair all over the bed that wasn’t mine. The restaurant arrangements were the worst part. The hotel doesn’t have enough capacity, so it works with other restaurants in town, but they wouldn’t let us reserve ahead even though we asked when booking. At check-in, they gave us only a trashy, hostel-style place as an option. For a 4* hotel, they should work with restaurants at a similar level and style. When we complained, other choices suddenly became available. Why weren’t those offered right away? We felt they’d put us in a box because we were dressed for hiking. It was strange and not guest-friendly. Everyone should be treated equally and as a 4* guest, since we all pay the same price.

Getting to the piazza, its restaurants and shops, and the lake is easy on foot from this great location. The hotel is clean with nice decor, and the pool area is beautiful and peaceful for a relaxing day. Breakfast has lots of choices and is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.
