We liked La Perla so much last year that we came back. The buffet breakfast has a wide selection, and the views over Ascona and the lake are lovely. The bus stop and boat jetty are both about a five-minute walk away. Staff are very friendly and do all they can to make you comfortable. We’d happily recommend the hotel.

We only stayed briefly, but they looked after us so well that we’d like to return. The annex buildings are lovely, and staying in one feels a bit like having your own villa. Rooms are clean and spacious, and it’s a peaceful, high-quality place above the village. Breakfast was generous and good quality, with staff regularly bringing out fresh food until 10:00 am. Everyone, from reception to the restaurant, was attentive, professional, and very friendly. The price felt fair for what you get. I’d definitely recommend staying here, even for a longer visit.

Drilling and hammering just outside our window woke us at 7am every morning because of construction on the property. We could also hear people coming and going through much of the night and early morning, as the walls are thin. The beds were hard, and the sheets and towels felt thin and scratchy. The pillows were flat and lumpy at once. If you want somewhere quiet and comfortable for a relaxing holiday, look elsewhere.

The breakfast was tasty and had a good range of choices. The hotel is beautiful and cozy, though a little way from the city center. The quality and service make up for that.

Our room was in a separate villa and felt old, with very little comfort. Ants got in through holes in the walls. When we raised it at reception, all they offered was insect repellent. We ended up leaving earlier than planned.
