As the evening settled in, I enjoyed the peace and the view from the garden terrace by my room. We were there for one night on a road trip. It isn't cheap, but I felt it was worth the price: good rooms and a great breakfast with an even better view. Ascona boulevard is only a five-minute drive away for a stroll or dinner.

We loved having both an indoor and an outdoor pool to choose from, and breakfast had lots of tasty options. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, and our room was clean and comfortable. Taking the shortcut down the steps, it's an eight-minute walk to the town center. Ten out of ten, we'll definitely come back.

The pool always seems to be empty when we want to use it. Still, this was our second stay this year, and we got a very nice family room. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room and restaurant had lovely views. There's also a place to charge electric cars.

The pool, fitness and spa area was spectacular, especially the steam room and Roman bath. Breakfast was a good continental spread, and the restaurant balcony overlooking Ascona and the lake was beautiful. The family run hotel has four generations involved, and the staff take a real interest and are very accommodating. The shuttle to Locarno is a big help from its position on a hill, particularly in hot weather when you don't want the walk. Our room was clean, though a bit vintage, but the lack of air conditioning made it quite uncomfortable.
