The room was comfortable, but small and short on decor, which made it feel a bit cold. Our view was of construction, though I know that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The staff more than made up for it. They were amazing, so friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed.

The water station on every floor was the best thing ever. After a night of drinking, it saved my life, lol. We loved our stay, with no complaints about the staff. Everyone was great and genuinely professional. The breakfast crew were especially good, particularly Marc. He was everywhere at once, spoke several languages, and worked so efficiently and hard that just watching him made me tired.

I was in Basel for five nights visiting friends and stayed at Krafft on their recommendation. I had a Junior Suite across the street from the main building, and it was excellent: spacious, with high-quality things throughout the room. Everyone I met was professional, warm, and exceptionally friendly. Lunch in the restaurant was very good, with first-class service from Marcus (?) and the wine bar is well worth a visit for a quality glass of wine in a relaxed setting. I’ll definitely return.

The river-facing restaurant space made breakfast lovely, and the hotel had nice touches like Nespresso machines and water on every floor. It’s a pretty historic building, and I could walk or take the tram wherever I wanted. My twin room was small but thoughtfully designed, fine if you don’t plan to spend much time in it. The restaurant doesn’t stay open late. A note for December stays: the Christmas market is on the road that the “city” rooms face. I was there over a weekend and found it very hard to fall asleep before about 1 am because of the partying below. That probably isn’t a problem in a river room.
