Der Teufelhof Basel

I loved the room and the rustic building, with its old school Swiss feel. There are several buildings along the street, so my only identifier is that it’s the one above the restaurant. Check-in is in the building on the right, while the hotel entrance is on the left, which is a bit confusing, but go with it. It’s close to Basel’s tourist attractions. I loved my three course meal at the restaurant and highly recommend it. Parking is two blocks away and a bit weird to get to and park in, but go with it, it was a good experience. I didn’t meet or see any Americans there, mostly EU travelers.

The service and employees were awesome, and the location was the best. We were lucky to find this gem of a hotel for our first time in Switzerland. Teufelhof was the perfect place to spend our time. We love it and will make it our go to every time!

Rooms are clean, and it’s a good location close to the Christmas markets. If you get a room in the older building, be ready for stairs.

The old building is beautiful, and my room was a fair size, well equipped, and very comfortable. I stayed one night for a business trip. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and gave me tips as a first time visitor to Basel. The restaurant team were great too. Our waiter helped us choose from the wine list and served Swiss wines, and the food was very good. After checkout, the team kindly let me use the gym across the road so I could change into travelling clothes after my meetings. Great hospitality. I’d happily stay again and highly recommend the hotel.
