Bellinzona Youth Hostel

The room was tidy, and the staff helped me check in even though I arrived a little late, at 20:15. The location is a bit far from the station.

It’s an easy 10-minute walk from the train station, and the area nearby was quiet. The large school has lots of rooms. Our room, bed, and the shared spaces were all clean, with no complaints there. Breakfast had plenty of variety and I enjoyed it, though the coffee wasn’t the best. It was included with our stay. The front desk was helpful and nice, but unfortunately the wifi didn’t work for me.

The location could have been great, but the place was anything but clean. There was no soap around, and as a woman I didn’t feel comfortable using the toilets or showers. Scaffolding was up on the house and the windows were always open. The breakfast was very poor, especially compared with what we’re used to at youth hostels in Switzerland. The rooms get sun all day and become VERY HOT. Avoid it in summer!!!!

The place was clean and the staff very friendly. We stayed for two nights with 18 young hockey players taking part in a local tournament. Breakfast was reasonable for a youth hostel. My only real problem was the trains passing right below my window. I could hear every one during the night. Thank you.
