The apartment was spotless, with a modern kitchen, one bedroom and a sofa bed for our seven-year-old twins. We were a family of four, and the pool and jacuzzi were a hit with the kids. Because of Corona, only eight people could use them at once. There’s parking both outside and indoors. The hotel itself isn’t especially modern or fancy, but it worked perfectly for a couple of days since it’s right by the ski lift. Dasha at reception was incredibly nice and helpful.

We loved our stay, especially the amazing restaurant and the friendly staff. Just be aware that Bellwald is quite far from places like Interlaken. It takes at least two hours to drive there. Apart from that, everything was great.

The music was too loud, and the service was painfully slow. I had lunch on the terrace in the middle of the Bellwald ski resort, but the staff didn't notice our table or the one next to us. They seemed focused on other tables, and we waited 15 minutes before shouting to get the waitress's attention. It felt very unprofessional.

The hotel is in a good location and the staff are friendly, but the restaurant and breakfast have limited choice and quality for what they charge. It was hard to find anyone who spoke a language besides German, and there’s nothing to do if it rains. I was charged for two nights despite staying only one, even though the hotel was practically empty.

We had a lovely dinner here in 2016. In 2017, though, the new chef was serving food burnt black. My advice is not to accept your plate. Take a photo before paying too, or the chef may threaten to call the police.
