bsmart hotel Menziken

There wasn’t much to do nearby, and the area had an unpleasant smell. The rooms also had no blackout curtains. Breakfast was disappointing, with few choices and stale pastries, and the one staff member handling it seemed overwhelmed. For the price, especially by Swiss standards, it wasn’t worth staying.

The staff were friendly, and parking was good. I also liked being able to check in and use the doors automatically. But after the night, our room hadn’t been cleaned, there was no closet, and the place wasn’t maintained properly: the curtain was broken and the tissue box was empty. Breakfast wasn’t very good either, especially the fruit, which was clearly not fresh. The hotel looks fine.

The location worked well for both Luzern and Zurich, and parking was free. Rooms were nice, but I’m not keen on bathrooms you can see into when sharing a room, and a few more sockets that work well for laptops would have helped. It’s a modern hotel with self check-in. Breakfast was basic, with no hot dishes, but it was complimentary. For Switzerland, I thought it was good value.

Breakfast was cold and not fresh. I booked a suite for my family for one night, which cost around 200 euros, and found after checking in that the AC wasn’t working. I called hotel service right away, but they said they couldn’t help and told me to open the windows. After the stay, I complained to management and asked for compensation, but they immediately refused. That felt very unfair, and it was the worst experience I’ve had at this hotel.
