Hotel Walida

I really liked the homely feel here. Some of the furnishings are a little dated, but they suit the traditional atmosphere. We stopped for a meal while we were in the area and had Rosti and veal. It was lovely.

The quiet lakeside setting is what makes this hotel work so well for tourists visiting Interlaken. It’s right on the bank of Bonigen See and reachable on Bus number 103, with lovely views and the essentials covered. Service was just right, without unnecessary extras or charges for things I likely wouldn’t need. Perhaps the only thing missing in the washroom was a blowdrier.

Our hosts were lovely and helpful, and we had a small balcony with an amazing view. The hotel is super nice, close to the bus stop and within walking distance of that amazing lake.

We got very personal service and home cooked food at this family run place. The father died last week, and the mother and daughter are carrying on. I had the “geschnetzeltes mit Rösti “, with fresh mushrooms and a tasty sauce, served with crispy “hash browns “ straight from the skillet at the table. The prices are very reasonable for Switzerland.
