Gasthof am Bach

I had a nice single room, but there was no internet. They said WiFi was available, but it wasn't, and the phone connection was bad too. The woman was super tempting and strange.

We stayed in a simple, clean room with three beds. The hostel had a barbecue, grill, stove, and kettle, and the hostess was friendly, always willing to help with problems or suggest excursions. It’s a good option if you want to visit Bern and Geneva without spending much on accommodation.

We arrived at 9 pm in the dark and could barely make out the place, with only a small light by the door. The room on the second floor was awful: cobwebs across the ceiling, bugs at the window, dust everywhere, and no trash cans or bags. The bathroom was filthy, with used glasses marked by juice stains, hair all over the dirty floor, and two discarded sinks under the toilet. The shower was covered in grime, so we couldn't bring ourselves to use it. The hostess said towels weren't included, which made me wonder how this counts as a hotel. She greeted us rudely and seemed angry that we'd come. The photos showed several shared kitchens, but she said they didn't exist and heated our food in her own kitchen, rudely. The hallway carpet was stained with dirt and the lamp was full of bugs. The owners slept in the next room, and the snoring kept us up. Around 3 a.m. it would stop, then there'd be a very loud bang on the wall, as if he were falling out of bed or throwing himself against it. It was terrifying. My children and I were scared and disgusted. The most expensive part was how much this place charged for what it offered. It was the worst accommodation of my life and the worst night I've had while traveling. I’d advise people never to stay there. What a rip-off.

There was no comfort to speak of, but the price was okay for what we needed. We were looking for somewhere cheap at short notice and found it here. The landlady was nice, and even left the heating and hot water on for us 😄
