Boutique-Hotel REMORINO

The staff were genuinely lovely, which makes this hard to write. Still, the hotel was a major letdown. The place feels very dated, our room was underwhelming, and the cleaning was below par. We paid an excruciating amount for what we got and left feeling deflated. The garden and pool are nice, but the daytime tiger mosquito problem was unbearable. We liked the location for the pleasant lakeside walk and the 2 km walk into Locarno for dinner. Lunch choices were okay, though there’s no dinner restaurant.

We had a lovely stay and are already looking forward to coming back. The staff were especially friendly and attentive, and the peaceful garden and outdoor pool were great places to unwind. Our spacious room looked out over Lake Maggiore and the mountains. Having breakfast on the sunny terrace with that view was a lovely way to start the day.

We only had a short stop here while moving through the area on our honeymoon, but we’re eager to return. The room was spotless, everyone on staff was so friendly, and having e-bikes was a big bonus. They made the honeymoon feel special in thoughtful ways. At breakfast, we were surprised with sparkling wine and a delicious strawberry tart, and there were celebratory chocolates waiting in our room at check-in. After checkout, they also let us borrow the e-bikes to ride to Ascona for a swim and lunch. That ended up being one of our favorite days of the trip. Thanks again, Hotel Remorino!

The views, comfortable beds, well-equipped rooms, and excellent breakfast made this a real gem. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. Thanks especially to Claudia and her colleagues for making us feel so welcome. We didn’t have enough time on this trip to explore much, so we hope to come back for longer bike rides and more time in the area.
