Hotel Restaurant du Crêt

The cold cuts were decent, much like what you can find in Switzerland or Italy, but I couldn’t justify the price. We arrived on a Friday at 2:30PM, and the only food available was a small charcuterie board with a few cold cuts, half a gherkin, and one small piece of cheese. We ordered two, along with water, bread, and coffee, and paid about 50 euros. Since this is one of the first stops after the Grand-Saint-Bernard tunnel, I expected more choice, even a little after lunch. This is just a review of the restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend stopping here, it’s better to carry on until you reach a proper town.

There’s a nice express breakfast option with juice, coffee, and a croissant. The hotel itself is quite old, but the employees are warm, welcoming, and friendly. They kindly stored some of our heavy luggage for us. They don’t speak English, only French, German, or Italian, but we managed to get by anyway.

The service was awful, and the food was really bad. A couple who came in after us were asked to pay 15 Fr to use the toilet when they only needed to change their baby, and they could only pay by card.

We stayed for 5 days after spending the whole day on skis, and the place had everything we needed without being too expensive. The family who own the hotel live there and are extremely happy people, and the staff were very friendly. Service in the Bar was great, especially from the Polish lady. Well done, we’ll definitely come back if we visit this region again.
