We arrived to find the owner of the sonnenBlick chalet absent, and waited for hours before he came with the keys. The apartment also didn’t have the serenity of the brienz lake. The owner took 200 frank as a deposit, treated us like thieves for no apparent reason, and never returned the money. He was rude, racist, and very greedy, seeming to care only about money. He shouted at us and showed us no respect. He also threatened to make us leave because he thought there were more than two of us.

The apartment has a nice garden and mountain view, and it’s near the train station, tourist information center, COOP supermarket, lake, and other attractions. It’s fully equipped apart from a clothes washing machine.

The landlord seemed completely unconcerned, and the studio was dirty, smelly, and badly furnished. There was no lake view, and noise from the apartments above and next door was a major problem. I’d avoid it.

Clouds hang over the mountains, and the lake views are stunning. The house is spacious and very comfortable.

Getting here is difficult for older people. The bus isn't very convenient either, since it only runs once an hour.
