Schmid und Alfa

A lovely little hotel right by the lake, with the mountains just across the view. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent.

The location made this stay for me. The hotel is across the road from the lake and Brunnen landing stage, where boats go to Flüelen and Luzern. Buses run regularly between the railway station and the town centre too. I had an economy room in the Alfa at a great rate. It was spotless and had a comfortable bed, multi-channel TV, fridge, writing area and ensuite facilities. Breakfast offered a welcome range of food, with plenty of coffee, tea and fruit juice. Maria and the other staff were friendly and helpful, and clearly wanted guests to have a relaxing stay. I’ve recently come back from a great visit, and Hotel Schmid & Alfa is on my list for this beautiful part of Switzerland. I’d happily recommend it to other travellers.

Maria and the whole team made my birthday stay one I won’t forget. They were incredibly friendly, shared fabulous recommendations and even moved me to a top-floor room. I’m so grateful for their kindness and hospitality. Truly a gem, and I highly recommend this place!

Petra, the superhost, was incredibly helpful and went out of her way for us. She’s a really amiable person. We found a beautiful hotel and perfect apartments for friends and family in a quiet spot, with lots of activities nearby. The apartment faces the lake, and the car park and Coop grocery store are within walking distance. We booked a yacht ride right in front of the apartment in just five minutes. There’s also a lovely walking street near the lake for evening sunset views. Eingelberg (Mount Titlis) is a 45-minute drive away.
