Grand Hôtel des Rasses & Wellness

The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and breakfast had everything we needed. We only stayed one night, and the views of lake Geneva and lake Neuenburg from the hotel were really awesome. Belle Epoque has its charm, but overall it feels a little old and some things are very outdated. Our bathroom looked like it was from back in the day, and the shower wasn’t working. The spa looked nice, but we didn’t have time to use it.

That dining room has a magnificent view of the alpine chain. I came with my daughter on the first day of 2023 for a quick lunch, and we chose an excellent vegetarian dish with sweet potatoes and a glass of local red from the rich selection of Swiss wines. It’s so nice to find a truly traditional hotel and restaurant still around, with long forgotten touches like artistically folded napkins and polished staff dressed in black and white. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were very friendly. We had a good stay at this great old hotel, with an amazing view from our spacious room. The one problem was the little refrigerator in our room, which wasn’t working. I mentioned it at the front desk and was surprised to hear that the room refrigerators throughout the hotel had been out of order for more than six months. For a hotel in that category, that seems like a real lack of attention from management.

The rooms that haven’t been renovated yet are functional, but don’t have a special spirit. The Belle Epoque feel is impressive as soon as you walk into the hotel. The new owners took over a few years ago and have done a great job renovating the restaurant, spa area and some of the rooms. Everyone on staff was friendly, from the cleaning lady to the receptionist and the restaurant and bar staff. We couldn’t leave our dog alone, so they set up a lovely table for us at the bar where we could bring the dog, and even brought a bowl of water. I can’t wait to come back!
