The rooms looked clean, with a traditional vintage style, but the entrance and reception felt dark and old-fashioned. The carpets in the passageways looked worn. About an hour after we arrived, we saw seven or eight bugs flying around, then more hanging all over the curtains. With the windows shut, we looked for where they were coming from and found a large nest of stink bugs hibernating along the underside of the curtain pelmet. There was also a grasshopper jumping from a lampshade. We went to the front desk for help, but it was closed and all the lights were off. We found a phone at reception and called the manager. They moved us to another room, but it had another large nest of stink bugs all along the inside of the curtain pelmet. The owner said it was nature and that another room might be the same, so she couldn’t do more. Tired and stressed, we stayed. We had a short night and had to move some necessities from the other room during the night, so we didn’t get a full or good sleep. Breakfast and dinner were reasonably good, but quite expensive for the quantity and quality. They couldn’t guarantee a room without more bug nests, so we checked out to find another hotel at short notice and were charged the full price. Our relaxing massage was also cancelled. It was a disappointing stay, and we paid in full for it. Never again. The pictures don’t reflect the hotel accurately, and it didn’t feel up to the advertised four-star standard.

We spent a long weekend here, two nights. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Service was very good, the staff friendly, and the restaurant was good. Breakfast was plentiful, and we enjoyed the spa. Would recommend!

I was trying to book a room for my family, with the invoice in the company’s name so they could pay by company credit card, but the booking was refused. The explanation seemed to be that they were coming from Romania, a foreign country. They said they might accept the booking if we paid in advance, because the owner apparently found it suspicious that people from there would come to Switzerland for a holiday, or something like that. In the end, they cancelled the reservation, saying only Swiss people stay at this hotel. Such an awful attitude. In my 10 years as an expat and five years living in Switzerland, I’ve never experienced anything like it. Sad!

Extremely clean, friendly, and the food was amazing. It’s a hiking paradise and a really relaxing place. We were a young couple and enjoyed it very much. It was worth the money, and we’ll come back!
