Ferienwohnungen Wallis - Randa bei Zermatt

We cooked on six of our seven nights, and both kitchens had all we needed. Our family split between ‘Dachwohnung B’ and ‘Wohnung Mitte’; both apartments were cozy, comfortable, and very clean. Getting to the lifts was easy: from the station in Zermatt, Gornergrat Bahn was just across the street and Sunnega Gondola about a seven-minute walk. Randa station is five minutes from the apartments, with a 20-minute train ride to Zermatt. Paul and Esther also went out of their way to collect our luggage from the station, return it when we left, and drive us to Täsch on our first evening for groceries. They were wonderful hosts, and we’d love to return for another ski trip.

Paul and Esther made our stay a lovely one. The beds were comfortable, the apartment was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Paul was ready with helpful information from just after we booked, and his tips made our trekking around the nearby trails and Zermatt even better. I hadn’t found this out in my earlier online research, so it may help others to know that trains run regularly between Randa and Zermatt. You can buy a multi-visit pass at Randa station, and there are trekking routes that start right in Randa too.

The location worked well for us, with Zermatt’s ski fields just a 15-minute train ride away and plenty to do in Täsch next door. We spent four nights over New Year’s as a group of four and felt like part of Paul and Esther’s family. The unit was very clean and had what we needed for a comfortable night’s sleep. The fireplace was priceless in winter. They let us contact them on WhatsApp, which made it easy to ask questions. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We happened upon House Bergdohle while booking late for a hiking holiday, and it turned out to be a fantastic find. Randa was peaceful and serene, with family hiking trails starting nearby, especially the route from Randa through Täsh to Zermatt. The chalet rooms were clean and tidy, with a full kitchenette, and we found a bottle of local wine waiting for us. We came by car and parked at a nearby house. Randa station is only a five-minute walk away. Paul and Esther were wonderful, sharing plenty of help and information and making us feel at home. We had a great holiday and came away with lasting memories.
