The room views were the best part, with a huge balcony overlooking the lake and mountains. The rooms themselves were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Dining and the spa were a letdown. The spa was smaller than the promotional material suggested, the water was cold, and there weren’t many wellness facilities. Food choices were limited, especially at the bar, where prices were close to the restaurant’s. Portions were small and the food didn’t taste as gourmet as it was presented. I could order a main and still go to bed hungry 😂. The sandwich was oddly the most filling choice. Breakfast felt hurried. Tables were cleared so fast that it was uncomfortable to linger over the meal or the view, even while still sitting there. It left the impression that being even a little late meant missing breakfast entirely.

The spa was clean and peaceful, with hot, clean water, tea, and orange-infused water. The receptionist was welcoming and professional. The outdoor pool might be a little warmer in cold weather, but we enjoyed the spa overall. Breakfast was plentiful, with eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, fruit, pastries, and fresh bread, served with a great view and impeccable service. I don’t understand why anyone calls it boring. We arrived late, but the staff already knew who we were. The spotless, warm lobby made us feel at home right away, and since we had our dog with us, the welcome kit and biscuit for him took away a lot of the stress. They were very welcoming to him, which isn’t always easy to find in Switzerland. Our room looked out over the river. There’s a tree in the way, but from the large terrace we still felt surrounded by nature and well looked after. We had dinner both nights. Service was excellent and professional without being over the top, and the staff remembered us the second evening and brought water for our dog. The first night my husband had lasagna and I had risotto, which was a little cold. That was the only small issue. The next night his chicken and my Caprese salad were both delicious. The room had everything we needed: a kettle, mini fridge, sink with storage, heated towel rail, good tissues and toilet paper, a safe, a TV with good channels, and a very comfortable bed with great pillows. The price felt reasonable for what was included, and the location was lovely. I was unsure about booking because of some negative reviews, and I usually do take bad reviews seriously. My husband Mr Kline and I travel constantly for work, he’s a pilot and I’m a flight attendant, and hotels and spas are a real passion of ours. We’ve stayed in many places in Canada, Switzerland, and elsewhere, so we have high standards. We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It’s a lovely place to disconnect, relax, and enjoy nature. I wouldn’t let the negative comments put me off, since they can come from people hoping for refunds or upgrades. We travel for a living and would definitely return.

The service team was amazing, and the receptionists were great. The restaurant food was fine, though nothing special. We also really enjoyed the spa, which is huge for a hotel in this category. Great hotel and stunning views. A very good four-star stay, and I’d recommend it.

We got massages and really liked them, and the spa was fantastic, with a heated indoor and outdoor pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, and cold plunge. For our honeymoon, the views were phenomenal, and the private jacuzzi was cozy and hot. Getting up there is manageable without a car too, since a public bus runs from the train station to the hotel. We’ll be back! :)
