Hotel Restorant Lej da Staz

They let me in at 11:24 even though they said they opened at 11:30 😊 I only had dessert this time, but I’d like to try the food next visit. The restaurant has a fantastic view, and the staff were friendly. It was a great walk there from St. Moritz.

The kiosk out front has no seating, and when people try to sit on the terrace, you throw them out. So much for “Gastfreundlichkeit.” Please learn from Austria, where even little kiosks have nice places to sit, especially for people who’ve walked a long way or gone cross-country skiing and just want to rest their legs. I used to be able to eat and drink in the restaurant, but now it’s permanently closed, and the opening hours are strange. Shame on you, Laudinella!

We arrived by horse and carriage at Lej Da Staz and were welcomed warmly and seated outdoors right away. The views and atmosphere were stunning, and we were excited to have lunch there. Stefano made the meal even better. He was kind, funny, and knew the menu well. He explained the Italian Cuvée they serve, which was delicious. My wife had a glass, and I had a lager. We also had a wonderful winter salad, swede and potato soup, and beef broth. Everything was warming and delicious. We hope to come back and see Stefano again. A fabulous restaurant with amazing staff, highly recommended. Thank you, Stefano!

The food was great, and there were lots of vegetarian and healthier choices, plus tasty desserts to tempt you. We were greeted warmly and seated, and the waiting staff were quick, polite, and funny. Stefano looked after us so well and clearly loves his job. Highly recommend!
