The continental breakfast buffet was generous, with a good choice of excellent cheeses, fresh bread, croissants, and proper coffee. We also ate in the restaurant, which looks out over the Sion Valley towards Crans Montana. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a good shower over the bath. Having visited at the weekend, some of the reviews here seem very unfair.

There was a really horrible smell that got into my things. When I unpacked at home, it filled my bedroom. The room was basic, with a curtain instead of a bathroom door, which was very strange. The only plus was the excellent selection of tea in the room.

The rooms feel a bit dated, though the beds are comfortable. The location is great, with fantastic views from the rooms and terrace, and the restaurant on the terrace is excellent.

Breakfast meant a 15-minute walk uphill to a different hotel, and the room itself was basic. The internet suddenly stopped working during our stay. Reception said nobody was available to fix it. A few hours later, with no staff in the hotel, I looked into it myself and found that the last person at reception had accidentally pulled out the cable. The staff were extremely unprofessional. Poor communication and an unauthorized credit card payment meant I paid twice. Despite promises in several emails and phone calls, I still hadn't been repaid after two months. All in all, very bad service and a very costly stay.
