Hôtel Victoria

The spa was just right after skiing, and breakfast was a treat: generous, tasty, healthy, with lots of homemade dishes. The family who owns the place are thoughtful and very friendly, and their newest family member, a dachshund, is sweet. The traditional Swiss buildings are beautifully decorated and extremely well maintained. Such a charming, relaxing place.

Everything ran smoothly for our ecstatic weekend retreat, from the planning and communication through arrival and departure. We really appreciated the management’s kindness, the quality of the rooms, and the lovely SPA and surroundings. The care, flexibility, clear communication, and attention we received and shared made it a beautiful, warm venue. Thank you, Victoria Retreat & SPA Vercorin. We’ll be back.

The restaurant staff seemed inexperienced and often forgot our orders, while the food quality was low. Our fondue was completely tasteless, as if it had been diluted with water. When we asked for more details, the owner gave indirect answers that didn’t add up. For New Years weekend, this felt like an overpriced 3 star hotel charging rates like a 4 or 5 star place. The owners seemed more interested in our money than in making the holiday enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re ready to pay a lot of $$$ for subpar quality and service.

The one thing I’d change is the room temperature. It was much too warm for me, and I couldn’t adjust the radiator, though our friends next door could. I also had no wifi in the room, only downstairs. That didn’t bother me since I have a swiss mobile phone carrier. Still, I’ll definitely come again, and next time I’ll ask for a room other than number 8. The rooms are modern and clean, the breakfast buffet was fresh with plenty of everything, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Even after we drank our own bottle of wine in the salon, they brought us snacks and glasses for free. We also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna after a full day of skiing.
