The room had its own bathroom, but it was much smaller than the apartment pictures I’d booked from. There was barely space for anything besides a bed and desk. I’d reserved through Booking and received an email confirmation with a PIN. Before the trip, I emailed and called the owner several times to ask where and how to collect the keys. They never replied by email. The day before my flight, a woman answered and said I’d use the PIN at a key box. When I arrived, the box showed the wrong date and the PIN didn’t work. No one answered when I called right away, though I later got a callback from an Unknown number. I called again, and a woman told me to go to a nearby hotel instead because it would be more convenient. I walked 10 minutes in the rain with my luggage. When I asked why I hadn’t been told about the change in advance, she said a 10 minute walk shouldn’t be a problem for someone as fit as me. After I got home, I found the owner had marked my booking as “cancelled” for “no show”. It was a bad experience.
