Park Hyatt Zurich

The room was nice, as it should be for the price, but the service was abysmal. My flight was delayed, and even after I explained, the hotel charged me for afternoon tea. The desk agent said it wasn’t her department, and nobody helped sort it out. I emailed the Park Hyatt afterward and never heard back. I’d pre-ordered the “Chocolate Experience” for 10:00 PM one evening and waited for hours, but nothing arrived. It was an expensive add-on pictured as a multi-tiered dessert platter. In reality, the “experience” was just the tiny box of chocolates on my bed at check-in, which I’d assumed was a welcome gift from Hyatt or AmEx Platinum. If that was the item, why ask me to choose a delivery time? It wasn’t what the picture showed at all. That also meant there was no welcome amenity and no room upgrade. At this price point, the communication and service were extremely disappointing.

I’ve stayed at park Hyatt Zurich with my family twice, and it’s been consistently good, with a nice location and great service. Tamara at reception was professional, friendly, and kind. She helped with the rooms and made sure we were comfortable. The doormen, concierge, and breakfast restaurant staff were all friendly and focused on guests. Nawal and the others made the experience superb. I highly recommend the hotel.

On our arrival day, tired from the flight, we decided to have dinner at Parkhuus. It was spectacular, a 15 out of 10. It wasn’t cheap, but the service was impeccable and every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared, including the amuse-buche items between courses. We were there for an AMAWaterways pre-cruise tour, and choosing Park Hyatt Zurich was a wonderful call. We’ve stayed at several very nice hotels over the years, but none topped it. The room was comfortable, well decorated, a good size, and had the standard amenities. The open shower took some getting used to, but it was fine. The hotel is well located, with restaurants and other sights within walking distance. I can’t recommend the hotel and Parkhuus highly enough.

Everyone was kind and willing to make our stay better. Illia at the front desk was especially helpful in tracking down something I’d left behind. His kindness, urgency, and genuine concern made me return from Basel to retrieve my valuable item. Thank you, Illia! The room, food, and amenities were all spectacular, just as you’d expect from the Park Hyatt brand.
