Nash Airport Hotel

The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff were really friendly. We also had a great dinner at the hotel restaurant. Thanks to Debora for being so welcoming and attentive after a long journey, and to chef Kevin for a delicious steak. It made the evening memorable. We slept well and found the hotel convenient for an early flight. The airport is an easy 5-10 minute walk over the motorway bridge. The 4:00am shuttle gets busy and is quite small, so get near the front of the queue or be ready to walk. A great place to stay the night before flying.

Even though we arrived at Nash Airport Hotel at 11pm, the staff let us have dinner after the kitchen had closed at 10:30. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but the waiter still served us with a smile. The receptionists were helpful too. Our room was comfortable and clean, just what you’d expect from Swiss hospitality. The shuttle was in high demand when we left, and only 10 people could fit each time, but the driver kept things moving efficiently. I’d recommend staying here.

Clean rooms, strong WiFi, and a bar open until 1am made this a good value for a night before an early flight. You can walk straight to the airport hotel, or take the shuttle, which runs every 20 minutes. It’s not the Ritz, but it works well for what you pay.

The reception staff were polite and welcoming, and one receptionist kindly helped me get my bags to the shuttle stop at 3:45am. I had three large suitcases and a cabin bag, though, and despite telling the hotel in advance, no proper luggage help had been arranged. At first reception said nobody could assist, so I appreciated that the receptionist later volunteered. There were problems with the transfer itself. The driver said a back issue meant he couldn’t put two suitcases in the trunk, so he placed them in the passenger area and I did most of the loading. At the airport he unloaded the bags and left right away. Some were still on the ground while I looked briefly for a trolley, and another passenger had to keep an eye on them. I also had a confusing taxi arrangement during my stay from 11 to 12 December. I asked reception to arrange a taxi to Quai du Mont-Blanc and was told to pay in advance. The driver suggested I walk because it was “just 5 minutes,” though Google Maps showed otherwise, then asked me to pay again when we arrived. The hotel later explained that the money taken at reception was city tax, which hadn’t been made clear beforehand. The hotel itself was good, and the staff were courteous and helpful individually, but the confusion and lack of luggage support made the early morning airport transfer a poor experience.
